I have used Hilsea Tyres and garage services for some time now for tyres and repairs.
There are garages closer and more convenient to where I live.

My car broke down and was not in a condition to be driven. There would have been no point in getting it recovered home. ( Tuesday 30/6/26).
Whilst recovery was on the way, I called Hilsea Tyres and spoke to Mike. He could legitimately have turned me away explaining they were fully booked until the end of the next week.
He told me to have it dropped off and he would see what could be done. It was dropped off just as they were closing.

I was updated the next day. Cam belt was completely stripped. He explained what might have been a big issue but wouldn't know until he'd had chance to check it out.

I got a call the next day telling me how lucky I was, that I should buy a lottery ticket and that I could collect my car as there appeared to be no damage.

He showed me the cam belt, there wasn't one "tooth" left.
They had completed the repair in a couple of days and the price was good.

The owner, Bobby, had been present when the car had been dropped off and could easily have vetoed the repair, knowing the workload his mechanics had, but he didn't.
I'm very grateful for the customer service and care that was given. What could have been a bit of nightmare turned into bit of an inconvenience.

I highly recommen Hilsea Tyres and if you haven't tried them before, give them a go.
Thank you Mike and Aston.
