Firstly, don't let the name fool you, we don't just supply and fit tyres. We are also a Portsmouth mechanic. It is a legal requirement to have an annual MOT test performed on your vehicle if it is 3 years or older and to make sure your car stays in top condition any problems need to be identified and dealt with as quickly as possible to prevent further damage. Here at Hilsea Tyres we can arrange your MOT and will only recommend the repair or replacement of the necessary parts. I have used Hilsea Tyres and garage services for some time now for tyres and repairs. There are garages closer and more convenient to where I live. My car broke down and was not in a condition to be driven. There would have been no point in getting it recovered home. ( Tuesday 30/6/26). Whilst recovery was on the way, I called Hilsea Tyres and spoke to Mike. He could legitimately have turned me away explaining they were fully booked until the end of the next week. He told me to have it dropped off and he would see what could be done. It was dropped off just as they were closing. I was updated the next day. Cam belt was completely stripped. He explained what might have been a big issue but wouldn't know until he'd had chance to check it out. I got a call the next day telling me how lucky I was, that I should buy a lottery ticket and that I could collect my car as there appeared to be no damage. He showed me the cam belt, there wasn't one "tooth" left. They had completed the repair in a couple of days and the price was good. The owner, Bobby, had been present when the car had been dropped off and could easily have vetoed the repair, knowing the workload his mechanics had, but he didn't. I'm very grateful for the customer service and care that was given. What could have been a bit of nightmare turned into bit of an inconvenience. I highly recommen Hilsea Tyres and if you haven't tried them before, give them a go. Thank you Mike and Aston.

Had a tyre repair done and sadly it didn’t hold it was the end of the day and I couldn't get back before they closed. They told me they would come out 8am tomo pump it up and follow me back to get it sorted and it happened exactly as promised. They sorted the issue out promptly with no further costs to me and I was back on the road by 9am. Cannot fault the service top boys
